A little blog love

A few more days into spring training and it’s obvious that Danny Knobler is going to be much beloved for his new Tigers Bulletin blog at mlive.com. Sadly, without comments, it’ll never have the voice of the fan. But there are some fan efforts out there that I’ll have to keep an eye on.

Haven’t posted about the Winter Olympics and here they’re almost over. But I had to reference this line from Bob Kravitz of the Indy Star about the ugly showing of the men’s hockey team: “The Americans didn’t fail to reach the medal round for the fifth time in seven Olympics because Modano and friends had to go to travelocity.com. Time to refresh things for baseball season. We’ve got new sections to the blog roll you’ll find in the right-hand column, with new sources for baseball. And, of course, some headlines that we’ve wanted to point to.

Whitaker in camp

Happy New Year everybody. Major League teams are beginning to trickle in to their spring training locales and their former stars are joining them. Good to see Lou Whitaker reuniting with his old minor league manager in his third spring with the Tigers.
