A few more days into spring training and it's obvious that Danny Knobler is going to be much beloved for his new Tigers Bulletin blog at mlive.com. Sadly, without comments, it'll never have the voice of the fan. But there are some fan efforts out there that I'll have to keep an eye on.
Tiger Tales is running a nice little position-by-position spring training preview. He's got a little sabermetics going, but doesn't seem obsessed by it.
Billfer at The Detroit Tigers Weblog has been at this a while. He's got good stuff. I believe I shall enjoy reading his Optimal Lineup post.
Tiger Blog is one of the finest things going, partially because of his '35 and '84 diary projects, but his current stuff is thoughtful too. (Check out his take on lineups.)
Bless You Boys (yeah, 1984 references), is part of SportsBlogs Nation, so there's plenty to recommend even if I, personally, hate the design of all those sites.
Mario of Last Call takes advantage of MLB's blog setup. Why, oh why, do you suppose there's no list of links to all the Tiger-related blogs on MLB's service. It seems like the easiest, most obvious thing, but I've never been able to find one.
Greg Eno's essays at Out of Bounds can make for interesting reading. Of course, he's got Motor City Sports Magazine to run.
The Leelanau Sports Guy at sportspig.com seems wide-ranging and opinionated, but generally on top of things.
Roar of the Tigers strikes me as verbose. But, there was a valuable set of links. Now that I've checked them all and listed them here, I may not have to go back.
Tigers Central is kinda crazy, but I like their scoreboard. Not the writing so much.
I have high hopes for Motown Sports Revival, but it hasn't turned its attention to baseball yet.
