Dissecting the Rose Bowl

» Posted by Jon on Sunday, June 5, 2005 at 9:59pm | Comments (0)

Welcome to the new setup. You could even say I was inspired to finish it by finding some more blogs about Michigan sports. One, especially, has done some excellent work with video clips from the Rose Bowl, both the highlights of Breaston and Edwards and the lowlights of Vince Young running all over the place.

In the end, he’s quite negative toward the play of the linebackers. Well, the defense certainly has some work to do after getting run over and around and through by quarterbacks its last two games of the season. I mean, after things go wrong that spectacularly, something has to change. The coaches aren’t going anywhere and next will have different players, but hopefully they’re motivated to make sure anything like those two games never happens again.

On the optimistic side, there’s the past and future play of Chad Henne and Steve Breaston. Scrolling down a little further, you’ll find some thoughts on Michael Hart, Jason Avant and a hope that the offense will open up and be plenty good to offset a defense that has some question marks.

And if you know anything about our house, you know that a defense with question marks will cause many anxious moments in the second half. Even 17-point leads might not be enough.
