Some early analysis

Baseball Prospectus takes a look at the Tigers during their triple play series of three bullets on three teams each day. And they get a little mention in ESPN’s ranking of the AL’s best lineups.

Prospectus likes the bullpen acquisitions and hint at the possibility of dealing Urbina to the Mets for Mike Cameron.

They’re not as plussed about Magglio Ordonez. While an upgrade over Bobby Higginson, it’s mostly the added expense and having two big contracts at the same position. Seems to me that they’re planning on Ordonez for a couple of seasons, while Higginson hasn’t had the production to warrant keeping him around.

And finally, they say Omar Infante is showing some promise at second, solidifying the middle with Carlos Guillen, who should be ready by opening day.
