Birds, and garden, growing
» Posted by Jon at 11:32 pm :: Comments (0)
The three robins actually hatched a few days ago, but it's been hard to get a good shot of them. They seem to be doing well.
Do these birds look angry to you? I think the one on the left is especially perturbed that we're taking pictures of the nest. You'd think they'd be used to it by now. Instead, they sit on the back fence and chirp at us. But we've determined that long-term memory is not a bird's strong suit. Plus, we keep changing our plumage.
Oh right, the garden
We have a plan. We have 12 seed packets. We have 16 squares to fill. In 4 boxes. The crop list: broccoli, cauliflower, roma tomatoes, Minnesota midget melon, zucchini, eggplant, yellow squash, two kinds of lettuce, beans, green peppers and little green onions. Should make for a tasty August.
My sister is in town this week (her PhD research brings her to an archive in the area) and she helped us plant.
One. One box -- completely planted.
Our patio planters are surviving, even showing decent growth, as long as we remember to water them.
