Backyard birding

These aren't exactly super-current, but here's a look at some of our backyard visitors -- goldfinches and a cardinal -- and a few culinary adventures.
Remember, there are two goldfinches in some of these photos, so zoom in and look carefully.

Oh, and here are the results of two recent-ish recipe trials -- pan-seared steak with a mushroom-red wine sauce and grilled French fish packets.
