Yesterday, we had two goldfinches visit our backyard, mostly the Liatris.

This is actually the same photo as the one above, just cropped differently to include that burst of purple on the right.

Looking back toward the house, with the bird perched on our Serviceberry, you also get a view of the lettuce. Off on the left, is that a butterfly?

In this one, you can just see the female on the left side.

The bees have really quite taken to the beebalm.

And yes, those bursts of purple you saw up above were the blooming of the purple coneflower.
