Wildlife visits
» Posted by Jon at 10:55 pm :: Comments (0)

Before the holiday weekend got started, a turtle paid us a visit.

The morning after a big rain there he was, visible from the front door, among the trees and shrubs and solar lights.

Then he crawled across the sidewalk and under the grass. Haven't seen him since.

Remember the black-eyed susans? Some of them are actually dark in the middle. Almost looks like that plant was grafted together. It's the only one that has this feature so far. (Yes, not technically wildlife, but observed on the same trip.)

We also have quite a few bees hanging around the colorful plants. They seem to really like the bloomed bee balm (hmm, guessing that was inevitable) and the liatris.
