Accounting for testing

When testing overtakes learning, just as when protocol trumps productivity, it seems that short-term checks have overtaken long-term goals in the pecking order. Not to mention having kids develop an unhealthy fear of failure instead of enjoying intellectual exploration.

Take a moment
Perhaps it is idealistic to assume that a tragedy would prompt us to draw on our common humanity, rather than to trigger unprovoked animus based on racial, national or political differences.

It is indeed sad that people have to jump to conclusions based on hate, rather than just honor the sacrifice and remain watchful for those trying to exploit it.
