Monday: Finally, a return flight

O.k., we're ready to go home

One last view of the beach

Getting stranded by an airline is really just a lot of hurry up and wait. You're going somewhere with a large group of people, so you're all going to the same places at the same time.

La Cabana is a self-described self-contained resort. There are a number of buildings with suites and pools and shopping concourses in between. Best shop: A little ice cream parlor open late, something that was hard to find elsewhere on the island. I suppose all the pools are nice, but where there's an ocean a few steps away, what's the fun of chlorinated water. Of course, it didn't have a palm-tree lined beach and you had to cross a street to get to the hut-lined sand.

In any case, it was a perfectly nice place to be stranded at. The suites give you extra space for lolling about. And if you were staying many days, having a kitchen and dining room table would be nice.

But we were getting back on a bus, heading back to the airport, where they had reassigned seemingly all the seats on the plane. Regardless of who was travelling with whom. Oops.

But the flights, again, went fine. It was nice to get back, even though it was very dark again.

As an overall evaluation, we've decided that honeymoons are fun. Not that we're going to have more. But we do plan for many annual vacations together.
